Bruce Cardin and Rev. Jimmie P. Sims officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mr. Allen died Tuesday, October 23, 1990 near his home in Winnsboro. He was a member of the New Hope Lodge No. 328 F&AM. He retired in 1978 after 33 years with U.S. Corps of Engineers. Mr. Allen was a deacon of the Boeuf River Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Vivian W. Allen, Winnsboro; one daughter, Nancy Sherman, Clinton, Ms.; one son, William Darrell Allen, St. Francisville; five sisters, Ottice Hendry, Audrey Comeaux, and Ruth Rider, of Winnsboro; Lessie White, Jonesville; Edna Mae Sims, Calhoun; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Nephews of Mr. Allen served as pallbearers. ************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA October 17, 1990 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Nov. 2005 Wilburn Elmer McCarty Funeral services for Wilburn Elmer McCarty, 78, Winnsboro, were held Friday, October 12, 1990 at Winnsboro First National Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. Jessie Boothe officiating. Interment followed in the Myrtle Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mr. McCarty died Wednesday, October 10, 1990 at King Guest Home following a short illness. Survivors include his wife Elsie L. McCarty, Winnsboro; one daughter, Barbara Ann Bolton, Winnsboro; one sister, Ruby Day, Winnsboro; one brother, H. B. McCarty, Winnsboro; and two half sisters, Joan Thomas, Winnsboro; and Katherine Dickey, Houston, TX. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Thornhill, Odell McCarty, Lannie McCarty, Dennis Bolton, Melvin Ashton and Mark Walley. ************************************
