W. Armstrong Jr. Funeral services for H. W. Armstrong Jr., 52, Winnsboro were held Friday at United Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro with the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mr. Armstrong died Wednesday at Franklin Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Armstrong was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. He had been owner and manager of Montgomery Ward for 13 years and was a Franklin Parish School bus driver for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Chris Armstrong, Winnsboro; two sons, Jarrod Armstrong and Jason Armstrong, both of Winnsboro; his mother, Mrs. Sibly Armstrong, Winnsboro; two sisters, Linda Peoples and Rita Crain, both of Winnsboro; one brother, Don Armstrong. Easterling Funeral services for Mrs. Frankie M. Easterling, 57, Winnsboro were held Friday at First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Easterling died Wednesday at E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe after a long illness. She was a resident of Winnsboro for the past 30 years, a seamstress and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Winnsboro. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Easterling, Winnsboro; two daughters, Teresa Easterling, Winnsboro; and Debra Young, Baskin; one son, Glenn Easterling, Winnsboro; five sisters, Leavy Douglas and Sarah Smith, both of Yazoo City, Miss.; Elaine Leal, Bentonia, Miss.; Katie Cartaman, Spencerville, Ohio; Janie Jones, Houston, Texas, three brothers, Vivian Douglas, Edward Douglas and Jimmy Douglas, all of Yazoo City, Miss.; her father, Marvin Edward Douglas, Gentonia, Miss.; eight grandchildren. Wade Robinson, Rev. L. F. LaPrairie and Rev. Ardie Jolly officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Miss Hatton died Sunday at Franklin Guest Home in Winnsboro after a brief illness. Miss Hatton was a member of Ogden Free Methodist Church. She received Travelers Scholarship by the Ford Foundation in 1952, she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma since 1945 in which she was also a charter member. She received a Citation from Gov. Sam Jones in 1942 for contribution made for the war effort in the Poultry business. She was a basketball coach at Ogden High School for 16 years - coached the first state championship at Ogden in 1945 and taught Art at Ouachita Parish High School for many years. She received a B.A. degree at Northwestern University in Natchitoches and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado. Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. Tarver Funeral services for Julius M. Tarver Sr. 87, Monroe, were held Tuesday at Winnsboro First National Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Foster officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and Rev. Clarence Wiley. Interment followed at South Central Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mr. Tarver died Sunday at his residence in Monroe. He was formerly from Gilbert and had lived in Monroe since 1965. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Dovie Tarver, Monroe, one daughter, Lola Marie Tillman, West Monroe; one son, Moise Tarver, Monroe, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. West died Tuesday at Richland Parish hospital in Delhi after a long illness. She was a resident of Delhi, a homemaker and a member of Lamar Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Bess Williams, Natchez, Miss.; Mary Wooley, Delhi; one son, Billy West, Delhi; five grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren.
