C. T. Smith officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Brown died Friday at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Brown was a resident of Winnsboro, formerly a resident of West Monroe. He was a printer and served in the United States Army and United States Air Force from 1942-1960. He served in World War II and Korea and was released as a staff sargeant with a service connected disability. Survivors include two sons, Dennis D. Brown Jr., West Monroe; and Allen K. Brown, Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Polly Mae Croke, Winnsboro; one brother-in-law, J. B. Croke, Winnsboro; also survived by nieces and nephews. ************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA December 16, 1992 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Anna Cora Bruce Funeral services for Anna Cora Bruce, 78, of Winnsboro were held Friday at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neil Fryer officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Bruce died Wednesday at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after an extended illness. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include one daughter, Elsie Barton, Magee, Ms. two sons, William Bruce, Vacaville, Calif.; Donnie Johnson, Start; one brother, Herman Harris, Fort Necessity; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Graham, Jackie Muckerath, Ed Rogers, Wayne Bruce, Charles Nichols and Edward Hitt. Will Young officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mr. Elkins died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1992, at LaSalle General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was a deacon of the Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Survivors include one daughter, Geraldine Givens, Pollock; one sister, Eraseal (sic Erseal) Smith, Crowville; four grandchildren; and eight great-granddchildren. Pallbearers were Garvin Miller, Winton Lofton, J. L. Hendrix, W. H. Max Lee and the Rev. Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed at Coax (sic Ogden) Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnston died Tuesday at the Franklin Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Thomas, Dallas, Texas; Velma Sanders, Robstown, Texas; two sons, Rickey Johnston, Winnsboro; Larry Heath, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Ray Thomas, Craig Thomas, Billy Ray Johnston Jr., Jeff Johnston, Lee Thomas and Austin Thomas. Submitter's note..
