Norwood ************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA July 28, 1993 Submitted by: Glenda Warner Boyd Ray Eldridge Funeral services for Ray Eldridge, 63, of Winnsboro were held Thursday at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro with the Rev. Vernon Blair officiating. Interment followed in Crowville Masonic Cemetery near Crowville under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Eldridge died Tuesday, July 20, 1993 at Winnsboro Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mr. Eldridge was a member of Temple Baptist Church, a retired mechanic with the Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development. He was also a native and life-long resident of Franklin Parish. Survivors include his wife. Betty L. Eldridge, Winnsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Sailor, Santa Barbara, Calif.; two sons, and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Barbara Eldridge, Baton Rouge; Roger and Teresa Eldridge, Duluth, Ga.; one sister, Doris Knipp, Winnsboro; one brother, Elton Eldridge, Winnsboro; five grandchildren, Levi and Amber Eldridge; Chase and Sydney Sailor; and Jason Eldridge; step-mother, Mrs. Ellis Eldridge, Winnsboro. Pallbearers were John A. Cuny, Macky Taylor, Clifton Lord, Allen Compton, Howard Guimbellot and J. L. Interment followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home. Mr. Erskine died Tuesday, July 20, 1993 at the Nurse Care Nursing Home in Shreveport. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arizona Erskine and one grandson, John Wise, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Ona Mae Cox, Shreveport; Lois Wise, Hot Springs, N.C., six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bo Erskine, Barry Erskine, James Marion Erskine, J. E. Floyd Hawthorne, the Rev. Mark Hughes and Rev. Gary Madden officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Madden died Thursday July 22, 1993 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was a resident of Deer Park, a homemaker, a member of Life Tabernacle in Clear Lake, and a past member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro. Mrs. Madden was preceded in death by her husband, A. G. Madden and daughter, Etheleen Madden. Survivors include a son, Louis F. Madden; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Madden, both of Deer Park, Texas; and six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Norwood Funeral servcies for Lee L. Norwood, 83, of Gilbert were held Wednesday at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Charrier and the Rev. Gene R. Brown officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery near Gilbert under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Norwood died Tuesday, July 13, 1992 at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a resident of Gilbert, a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Norwood, Gilbert; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Butch Hatten, Liddieville; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee A. and Charlotte Norwood, Crowville; also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Wayne Norwood, Leo Norwood Jr., Walter Purvis, Ben Purvis, Bob Purvis, Jeff Purvis, Wesley Mercer and Dale Mercer.
