Arender Funeral services for Henry H. Arender, 55, of Baskin were held Monday at Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. George Ferrington and the Rev. Gene Brown officiating. Interment followed at Reagan Cemetery near Baskin under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Arender died Saturday, August 14, 1993 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a resident of Baskin, a driller with Mixon Brothers Drilling Company, and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Arender was a volunteer with the Baskin fire department and a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Survivors include his wife, Voncille Arender, Baskin; one daughter, Sheila Arender, Gonzales; two sons, George Arender, Ruston; Thomas Arender, Baskin; his mother, Alta Brown, Baskin; one sister, Vera Lee Arender, Baskin; one brother, Aubrey Dale Arender, New Hampshire. Pallbearers were Kenneth Waller, Frank Reese, Walter Hemphill, Jerrell Brady, Mike Hoddox and Terry Turbeville. Honorary pallbearers were Landel McKeithen, John Ivy LeBeaux and Paul Roger. ********************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 18, 1993 Submitted Jan. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd James Monroe Cruse Graveside services for James Monroe Cruse, 70, of Doyline were held Sunday at Lone Cedar Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Cruse died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1993 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a resident of Doyline, past resident of Winnsboro and retired shipping clerk with Sears Department Store. Mr. Cruse retired from the U.S. Army having served in WWII and Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion Post # 0388. Survivors include one daughter, Diedre Cruse, Baton Rouge; one son, James Christopher Cruse, Winnsboro; three sisters, Marie Ross, Marvee Chesney, and Joyce Fain, all of Winnsboro; three brothers, Reggie Cruse, Jack Cruse, both of Winnsboro; and Lemmie Cruse, Jacksonville, Fla.; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. ***************************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA August 11, 1993 Submitted Feb. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Isaac N. 'Newt' Williams, Jr. Funeral services for Isaac Newton "Newt" Williams, 94, of Winnsboro were held Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. C. T. Smith and the Rev. Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Williams died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1993 at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Williams played football and attended Normal and Southwestern Universities. He was a former scoutmaster and was a member and long time deacon and Sunday school teacher at Boeuf River Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Myrtis L. Williams, Winnsboro; one daughter, Jerry V. Slayter, Pineville; two sons, Zelos Newton "Zeke" Williams, Bogalusa; Robert Earl Williams, Delhi, two half-sisters, Dawn Grayson and Margaret Stewart; one half-brother, Don Williams, Winnsboro; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
