Welch ****************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA October 6, 1993 Submitted September 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Alvin Lavone 'Jack" Davis Funeral services for Alvin Lavone "Jack" Davis, 82, of Baton Rouge were held Saturday at Riser First National Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home. Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Sept, 29, 1993 at Riverview Hospital in Gonzales. Survivors include three daughters, Laverne Klier, Baton Rouge; Jean Kelly, Longview, Texas; Joan Hollingshead, Adrian, Mo.; one son Glenn Davis, Theodore, Ala.; four sisters, Edna Jones, Logansport; Joyce Woodward, Phoenix, Ariz.; Martha Louks, Montgomery, Ala.; Jean Watts, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Durwood C. Davis, Red Chute, La.; Willie B. Davis, Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Martin Klier, David Klier, Jimmy McDonald, Mike Hollingshead, Larry Gill and Bobby Wayne LaBorde. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Strickland, Stanford Poland and Richard E. 'Bo' Henry Graveside services for Elizabeth W. "Bo" Henry, 86, of Northfolk (sic Norfolk), Va. formerly of Winnsboro were held Thursday at the New Winnsboro Cemetery with the Rev. Francis Williams officiating. Interment was under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Henry died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993 in Norfolk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro and was a retired vice president with Winnsboro State Bank. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Henry Sr. Survivors include one son, James O. C. Johnston Funeral services for J. C. Johnston, 78, of Winnsboro were held Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Vernon Blair officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Johnston died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1993 at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a life-long resident of Franklin Parish and was a retired cotton gin operator. Survivors include his wife, Edna Johnston, Winnsboro, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Debbie Johnston, Winnsboro; Donnie and Marion Johnston, Metairie; three sisters, Mary Jane Womack and Doris Graves, both of Natchez, Miss.; Emma Lee Chevalier, Farmerville; three grandchildren, Julia Wiggers, Karen Johnston and Amanda Johnston; three great-grandchildren. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Welch died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993 at the Franklin Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a former resident of Eunice, a member of the United Pentecostal Church and housewife. Survivors include her husband, William O. Welch, Winnsboro; two sons, Barry Lane Welch Sr., Bossier City; Danny O. Welch Sr., Grayson; five sisters, Mozelle Brown, Jewel Tate, Irene Dowdy, Retten Smith and Clara Taylor, all of Sylacauga, Ala., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
