Thomas Peoples and the Rev. Milford Walters, Baton Rouge, officiating. Burial was in South Central Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Curry was born on April 20, 1091, in Sulligent, Alabama. She died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1994, in Wisner. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wisner and the Eloise Chapter No.76, Order of the Eastern Star. She will be remembered as a talented seamstress and craftsperson. Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Curry; three sons and a daughter-in-law; Eddie Curry, Joe Curry, Billy and Etta Curry; and a granddaughter, Cookie Curry Beach. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Burwin E. and Melba Curry of Gilbert; Clinton J. and Louise Curry of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Kitty and Ansel Marbury of Baton Rouge; Anna Belle and E. N. Emfinger Jr., of Ashville, N. C.; also 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Pat Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Dickey died Monday, Jan. 31, 1994 in Winnsboro. Mrs. Dickey was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar Society and a retired housewife. Survivors include two sons, Thurman B. Dickey Jr., Monroe; and Richard G. Hatten Graveside services, with full military honors, were held for Louis J. Hatten, 71, of Long Beach, Miss., Jan. 17, 1994 in the National Cemetery in Biloxi. Mr. Hatten died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1994 in Biloxi. He was a native of Fort Necessity. He served in the North African Theatre and European Theatre during World War II and served during the Vietnam conflict. He retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. During the Korean Conflict, he was stationed in Japan, functioning in a support role for U.S. troops in Korea. He was a member of Commission Road Baptist Church in Long Beach, and a retired member of the Mississippi State Employees Association. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia B. Hatten, Long Beach; a daughter, Sherry L. Bobby Brown officiating. Interment followed at Ogden cemetery near Liddieville with military rites under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Polk died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1994 at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a resident of Winnsboro, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Franklin Parish Police Jury. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Polk, Winnsboro; two daughters, Mary Johnson, West Monroe; Kyra Williams, Winnsboro; one son, William S. Polk, Ferriday; one sister, Elmer Wesston (sic Elma Weston), Winnsboro; one brother, Eris(sic Earis) Polk, Winnsboro; also 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnston died Thursday, Feb. 3, 1994 at the Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Johnston was a member of the Boeuf River Baptist Church, a member of the New Hope Lodge, and Franklin Parish School board member, District 8, and was a life-long resident of the Liddieville community. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Johnston, Winnsboro; sons, Billy Ray Johnston Jr. and Jeffrey Duane Johnston, both of Winnsboro; daughter-in-law Jackie Johnston, Winnsboro; grandson, Kenneth Wade Johnston; four sisters, Ruby Davis, Winnsboro; Minnie Bells (sic Betts), Napoleon, Ohio; Addie Massey, Choudrant; Allie Mayers, Natchez, Miss.; one brother, W.H. He was a resident of Liddieville, a truck driver with MDX Trucking Company, member of Melborne Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, June Strickland, Liddieville; four daughters and sons-in-law.
