Edward Greig officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Richmond died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1995 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Winnsboro, retired sign foreman with Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Richmond was preceded in death by two grandsons, James David Richmond and Joel Allen Richmond; and one great-grandson, Michael James Kanehl. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Brown Richmond, Winnsboro; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Diane Kanehl Pearce; Sue and Bill Olivo, all of Winnsboro; Flo and Jim Day, Hornbeck; Lela and Barry Knox, West Monroe; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sandy Richmond, Gilbert; Meloy Jr. and Teressia Richmond, Pete and Judy Richmond, and Tim and Lynn Richmond, all of Winnsboro; three sisters, Orell Blackwell, Richton, Miss; Sally Everrett, Riverbank, Calif.; Edna Kirby, Winnsboro; four brothers, Julius Richmond, Springhill, Ray Richmond and Robert Richmond, both of Winnsboro; Huey Richmond, Vidalia; one aunt, Ms. Obel Hayes, Fort Necessity; also 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Grandsons who served as pallbearers were Casey Kanehl, Matthew Richmond, James Day, B.J. Knox, Brandon Kanehl, Rodger Richmond, and Terry Glen Weatherly. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Lance Knox and Ryan Richmond. ***********************************************************
