Funeral services for Beatrice Hawsey, 86, of Winnsboro were held Thursday at Community 
Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating.
 
Interment followed in Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Community Memorial 
Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Mrs. Hawsey died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995 at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena after an extended illness. 
She was a resident of Winnsboro, most recently residing at Golden Age Nursing Center in Jena, 
a retired cafeteria employee, and a member of Victory Apostolic Church of Winnsboro.
 
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Smith, West Monroe; Betty Shipley, Winnsboro; Sherry Joubert, 
Jena; one sister, Grace Smith, Winnsboro; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
 
Pallbearers were Larry Riley, George Faulk, Russell Faulk, J. R. Shipley, Lynn Earl Eubanks and 
Charles Poole.
 
Submitter's note: Beatrice Russell Hawsey was born October 31, 1909 to the union of George Newton 
Russell and Clara Margaret "Maggie" Russell. She married Talmage Vernon Hawsey on November 17, 1933 
in Franklin Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, 
Riley Bud Russell and four sisters.
