Doyle Adams officiating. Interment followed at Coax Baptist Church Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mr. Baird died Thursday, Feb. 27. 1997 at Columbia North Monroe Hospital following a brief illness. Pee Wee was born in Tallulah, La. March 11, 1921. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carrie Baird of Winnsboro; two son, Kenny Baird and wife, Maxine of St. Francisville; Ronnie Baird and wife Betty of West Monroe; twin brother, Harmon E. Baird of Monroe; grandchildren, Kevin and Wendy Baird of West Monroe; Jeff and Ann Baird of Dallas, Texas; Angela and Ricky Williams of Baton Rouge; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charlie Burns, Donald Seffens, Jerry Seffens, David Baird, Eddie Ray Bryan, Tommy Ross and Jimmy Ross. Members of the VFW Post #3155 conducted a Flag Presentation Ceremony. ***************************************************** Franklin Sun issue is March 5, 1997 Submitted Jan. 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Henry Percy Ernest Sr. Funeral services for Henry Percy Ernest Sr., 69, formerly of Winnsboro, were held Feb. 16 in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Ernest died Feb. 13 in South Fulton Medical Center in Atlanta following a brief illness. A retired airman, Mr. Ernest was the son of the late Ida and Jesse Ernest, Sr. of Winnsboro. Survivors include his wife, Revon K. Ernest, Atlanta, five children; Cheryl E. Roberts, Rita F. Copeland, Anita E. Wright, Henry P. Ernest Jr (Dolly), all of Atlanta, and Jesse G. Ernest (Veda) Oakton, Va.; one brother, Jesse Ernest, Jr. of Grambling, one sister Anita F. Ingram Funeral services for Ruth A. Ingram, 71, of Winnsboro were held Friday at Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Ingram died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following a brief illness. She was a resident of Winnsboro. a medical clerk with Winnsboro Medical Clinic, and a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Purt Ingram; and son Ronnie Ingram. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Ingram and Mark Ingram, both of Winnsboro, sister, Dorothy Antley, Pineville; two brothers, Henry Rolen and Douglas Rolen, both of Winnsboro; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. 'Bo' Johnson Funeral services for Samuel O. "Bo" Johnson, 67, of Winnsboro were held Monday at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Fryer and the Rev. Robbie Robison officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Johnson died Saturday, March 1, 1997 at Franklin Medical Center. He was a resident of Winnsboro, retired warehouse manager with McLemore's after 36 years, a member of New Zion Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Margie Johnson, Winnsboro; one daughter, Penny Hubbs, Winnsboro; one son, David Johnson, Winnsboro; four sisters, Clover Dale Eppinette and Jackie King, both of Rayville; Ruby Smith; Archibald; Minnie Jo Rodman, Swartz; one brother, Buddy Johnson, Monterey; also four grandchildren. George Lavender, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Bell Union Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Thomas died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker. Survivors include one sister Laura Loring, Winnsboro. Pallbearers will be Bernard Taylor, Charles Loring, Eli Freeman, Rev. Marshall Thomas, Rev. Henry Johnson, and James Johnson. ----------------------------------------
