Neal Fryer and the Rev. Woodson McGuffee officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Brown died Friday, April 4, 1997 at Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a resident of Franklin Parish, a retired beautician, and a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Harold Brown, Winnsboro; one daughter, Lawana Tio, Winnsboro; one son, Larry Don Brown, Winnsboro; one brother, Russell Bryan, Norman, Okla.; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Richmond, Pete Richmond, Meloy Richmond, Tim Richmond, Billy Olivo and Kim Wilson. 'Jack' Cruse Funeral services for Mr. Elbert M (Jack) Cruse, 81, of Winnsboro were held Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Allen Miller and Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Interment followed in Lone Cedar Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Cruse died Friday, April 18, 1997 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a Charter Member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nellie Mae Cruse of Winnsboro; one son, Elbert M. Cruse. Jr. and wife Charlene of Brusley; one daughter, Alice C. Ward and husband Charles Edward Ward of Winnsboro; one brother, Lemmie C. Cruse of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Marie Ross of Winnsboro, Marvee Chesney of Monroe, Joyce Fain of Winnsboro; three grandchildren, Rusty and Amanda Cruse of Brusly and Eric Cruse of Winnsboro. Pallbearers were Kyle Fain, Clifton Lord, John Winters, Keith Taylor, Buster Ross and Winton Lofton. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery near Liddieville under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Tarver died Saturday, April 19, 1997 at his residence. He was a retired driller with Transworld Drilling. Mr. Tarver was best known as "Buck-Eye". Survivors include his wife, Betty Tarver of Liddieville; one son, Ronnie (Tater) Tarver, Jr. and his wife Traci Tarver of Liddieville; one daughter, Ricki Tarver of Liddieville; one granddaughter, Chelsea Tarver; two sisters, Geneva Jones of Baton Rouge, Laura McNease of Winnsboro; three brothers, Marion (Mutt) Tarver of Monroe, John Robert Tarver of Winnsboro and James Houston Tarver of Winnsboro. Serving as pallbearers were Wayne Boyd, Michael Boyd, Devin Deblieux, David Deblieux, Jack DeBlieux, David Green, Brian Maiocchi and Melvin Carroll and alternates Ricky Massey and Kelly Armstrong.
