Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Croke died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1997 at HCA North Monroe Hospital after a sudden illness. She was a resident of Winnsboro and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by a son, Glynn L. Croke and a great-grandson, David Young. Survivors include her husband, J.B. Croke, Winnsboro; two daughters, Vickey Diane Hicks, Oakhurst, Texas; Mary Pat Lofton, Winnsboro; one son, Brian L. Croke, Eros; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Johnston Funeral services for Rachel Gladys Valentine Johnston, 91, of Winnsboro were held Tuesday at Boeuf River Baptist Church near Liddieville with the Rev. Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Johnston died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997 at Plantation Manor Living Center in Winnsboro after an extended illness. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker, member and long time Sunday School teacher at Boeuf River Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. W.B. Valentine, husband, Gordy H. Johnston, daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Dolphus Tarver, sisters, Meta Claunch, Ann Evans, Lola Reeves; brother, Willis A. Valentine, Albert P. Valentine, Benjamin F. Valentine, Wrentham B. Valentine, O.R. Valentine. Survivors include her children, Gordy W. Johnston and wife, Eleanor, St. Amant; Laverne Beatty and husband, James, Winnsboro; Byrdie Mae Jennings and husband, Charlie Ray, Winnsboro; Virginia Collins and husband, Bobby, Winnsboro; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ron Ferrington officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Renfrow died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, retired machine operator at the Milk House in Winnsboro, and was an active participant with Senior Olympics. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ethel Renfrow, Winnsboro; his children, Ronald Glen Renfrow and wife, Carolyn of West Monroe; Jerry Wayne Renfrow of Gilbert; Ann Eubanks and husband, Kenny of Monroe; Sue Marie Renfrow of Crowville and very close friend of the family, Betty Ann Greer; a sister, Ruby Polk and husband, Earis of Winnsboro; two brothers, Wardell Keyes and wife, Pauline of Lubbock, Texas; J.L. Keyes and wife, Gladys of West Monroe; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Post 3155 will have the flag presentation honors at the cemetery. Mr. Ross died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a native and resident of Franklin Parish, graduate of Ogden High School and Louisiana College, served in the United States Army, a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church, retired Ogden School coach 1971 until 1991, an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman. Survivors include his wife, Joy S. Ross, Liddieville; two daughters, Amy Leann Carraway, Liddieville; and Renee Ross, Shreveport; one brother, Sidney Ray Ross, Liddieville; also one grandchild, nieces and nephews.
