H. 'Dub" Wheelus Jr. Funeral services for William Henry "Dub" Wheelus Jr., 77, of Winnsboro were held Thursday at Riser First National Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. J. Alan Miller and the Rev. James Simons officiating. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery with V.F.W. Post 3155 conducting a flag presentation ceremony, under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Wheelus died Tuesday Feb. 10, 1998 at his residence. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. He was in the CCC Camp in Ruston, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the China-India-Burma Campaign and was an active member of V.F.W. Post 3155. Mr. Wheelus retired as compressor operator with Tenneco Corporation after working 31 years. He was a past member of Winnsboro Masonic Lodge #246 F&AM and past board member of cub scouts and boy scouts. Mr. Wheelus was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mayola Wheelus, son, Bobby Ray Wheelus, and two brothers, Willard Gene and Roger Ray Wheelus. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie Sypert Wheelus, Winnsboro; son, William H. "Bill" Wheelus, Winnsboro; one sister, Helen Wells, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Ralph Wheelus, Lawrenceville, Ga.; James Doyle Wheelus, Shreveport; a grand- daughter and two great-granddaughters. Pallbearers were Jim Crawley, Gene Anderson, Ray Wheelus, Rev. William Busby, W. P. Lofton, Rev. Mark A. Wilson, Cecil Pylant and Elton Eldridge. Honorary pallbearers were members of V. F. W. Interment followed in the Adi Cemetery in Alto under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Miss Williams died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following a lengthy illness. Survivors include one son, Robert Williams, Winnsboro; three sisters, Lancy W. Haynes, Bosco, La.; Margaret Williams, Rayville; Lilly Mae Turner, Los Angeles, Calif.
