Thames Memorial services for Mark D. Thames, 44, were held Saturday at Community Memorial Chapel in Winnsboro. Mr. Thames died Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at Slidell Memorial Hospital after and extended illness. He was a resident of St. Tammany Parish, a native of Franklin Parish and a member of the Baptist Faith. He is preceded in death by his father Oscar Calvin Thames. Survivors include his mother and step-father Shirley Temple Grant and Shelby of Gilbert; grandmother, Lois Temple of Winnsboro; brothers, Jerry Lynn Thames of Crowville, Carl Ray Thames of Winnsboro; sisters, Susie D. Thompson Funeral services for Guy Irwin "G.I." Thompson, 85, of West Monroe were held Monday at the Community Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Thompson died Saturday, November 4, 2000 at Wind Chimes of West Monroe. He was a resident of West Monroe, past resident of the Orange, Texas area. He was a retired electrician and past business agent with the Electricians Union. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Trim of West Monroe; step-children, Betty Cagle and Bill Newson both of Bridge City, Texas; sisters Eloise Boothe and Hattie Dampier both of Wisner; brothers, Willard Thompson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Forest Thompson of Huntsville, Alabama; 11 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Amos Griffin. Interment followed at Berry Hill Cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Thompson died Thursday, October 26, 2000 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, following a brief illness. He was a machine operator. Survivors include a daughter, Cherrie Blackson of Winnsboro; mother Allentine Thompson of Winnsboro; sisters, Ollie Thompson of Dallas, Texas; Catherine Wiley, Gloria Thompson, Glenda Wade and Wanda Thompson all of Winnsboro; Doris Spears of Fort Lee, Virginia; brothers, Levell Thompson and Clarence Thompson both of Dallas, Texas; Kenny Thompson and Freddie Handy, both of Winnsboro; and two grandchildren. Preston Dupre` officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Underwood died Friday, November 24, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after an extended illness. He was a native and resident of Franklin Parish, retired truck driver with Mary Kay having received the National Safety Award and served with the United States Air Force. Survivors include his daughter, Connie Dupre` of Houston, Texas; son, Mark Underwood of Winnsboro; sister, Alto Kincaid of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were, Douglas Kincaid, Paul Toler, Joe Giles, Royce Hines, Don Klish and Norman Underwood.
