Karen Rogers officiating. Interment followed at New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Carpenter was born July 24, 1914 in Ouachita Parish and passed from this life on Wednesday, December, 13, 2000. Mrs. Carpenter was the last of six children to the union of Jacob and Maggie Casteel. She was a graduate of Baskin High School. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She wrote a colum for 10 years for the "Caldwell Watchman" called the "Martin Home Place News." She was also feared and greatly respected as a Scrabble player. Mrs. Carpenter was active in nursing home outreach. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Winnsboro and Presbyterian Women's Circle and an active mother at Winnsboro High School, helping raise money for band and other activities. Her kitchen was an open door to all. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, William E. "Jack" Carpenter of Columbia; two sons, Dr. William E. "Jack" Carpenter Jr. and companion, Elizabeth Vallance of Memphis, Tennessee; John David "Johnny" Carpenter and wife Susie of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Lisa Claire Carpenter, Jessica Leigh Carpenter; Amy Elizabeth Carpenter; Rachal Rebecca Carpenter; and William Russell Carpenter; two great- grandchildren, Annie Lucille Eldridge and Kathleen Claire Eldrigdge. Mrs. Graham was born March 30, 1933 in Mangham and passed from this life on December 21, 2000. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mangham. Mrs. McCarty was born August 9, 1933 in Mangham, and passed from this life on December 18, 2000. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. Mrs. McCarty was preceded in death by her husband, Pete McCarty and daughter, Sara Jane McCarty. Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at First Baptist Church in Winnsboro. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 P.M. until time of the service. A resident of Youngsville, Louisiana, McQuillin died on Friday, December 22, 2000, at Our Lady of Lordes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. He is survived by his wife, Stacy Jowers McQuillin; his mother, Kathryn McQuillin of Winnsboro; one brother Tim McQuillin of Woodworth, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy McQuillin. McQuillin, a defensive ends coach at the University of Louisiana Lafayette had just completed his second year on the UL Lafayette staff. He came to Acadiana after serving three seasons on the staff at LSU. Before entering the collegiate ranks, McQuillin served for nine years as defensive coorinator at Winnsboro High School. He entered the coaching profession as head coach of Newellton High School in 1986 before moving back to Winnsboro. Mrs. Netherland died Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at her residence. She was a resident of Rocky Branch, a native of Franklin Parish and a homemaker. Mrs. Thompson, the daughter of the late Morgan and Anna Killingsworth Thompson, was born in Goldonna on March 15, 1911. She died at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia on Wednesday, November 1, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clarks United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by a son Roddy Williams; daughter-in-law, Betty Williams; and a grandson Robert. Mrs. Williams was born on November 3, 1914 in Cass County, Texas, where she grew up and married R.C. Williams on January 4, 1936. In 1944 they moved to Delhi where they raised a family of three boys, Roddy, Arby and Toby. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Delhi community. She and R. C. began a family owned business which still operates today. Mrs. Williaams and her husband retired to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 1976. They remained an active member in the Pagosa Springs Baptist Church until moving back to Delhi in 1990. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, R.C.
