He had celebrated his 80th birthday on June 24, 2000. Mr. Fletcher was a long time resident of the Lamar community south of Delhi, where he served as a deacon at Lamar Baptist Church, Recently he moved to the Dunn Community west of Delhi, where he served as a deacon at Dunn Baptist Church, He was a retired farmer of Franklin Parish and in the off seasons worked oil-field related jobs. He also worked at several farm related businesses in the Winnsboro/Delhi area. Mr. Fletcher was a Christian who served his Lord and his church faithfully. He was a kind and gentle man who sought out the good in all people and was affectionately call "Papa" by many. He will be remembered and loved by everyone his life has touched.
