Jim Taylor, the Rev. Wayne Smith and the Rev. Darrell E. Dean officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Dean died Thursday, May 24, 2001 at Glenwood Medical Center. She was a retired florist and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson M. "Bud" Dean. Survivors iclude three sons, J. W. Dean, Winnsboro; Robby Dean and Debbie, Winnsboro; Joe M. Dean and wife, Shellia, Bossier City; two sister, Clarice Wiltshire, Baskin; Janie Bonner, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and friends. Pallbearers were Billy Cobb, Al Cobbv, James Wiltshire, Ray Coughran, Billy Coughran, Mark Bonner III, Kenneth Adams, and Roy Bledsoe. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Robinson, Mert Girod and Stanley King. ***************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA May 9, 2001 Submitted March 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd George Dilley Funeral services for George Dilley, 69, of Winnsboro were held Sunday at Boeuf River Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Dilley died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at his residence after an extended illness. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired ironworker, served with the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Dilley, Winnsboro; four daughters, Terri Rayborn, Houma; Marsha Knox, Andrea Williams, and Margaret Boyd, all of Winnsboro; five sons, John Dilley, Hebert; David Lance, Elmer; Ricky Massey, Mark Massey and Ralph Weems, all of Winnsboro; two brothers, A.J. Dilley, Monroe; Woodrow Dilley, Lafayette; three sisters, Mary Williams and Inez Griffis, both of Lafayette; Bertha Seals, Warner, Texas; 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Rickey Johnston, Bobby Woods, James Jewell, Chris Neilson, J. W. Brown and Rusty McKenzie. McCarty Graveside services for Elsie L. McCarty, 89, of Winnsboro were held Sunday at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery with Eric Day officiating. Services were under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. McCarty was born Jan. 13, 1912 in Austria. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. E. McCarty, her parents and one brother. Survivors include a step-daughter, Barbara Bolton and husband, Dennis, Amarillo, Texas; brother-in-law, H. B. Paul Kolb and the Rev. Woodson McGuffie officiating. Burial followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Plunk died Monday, May 14, 2001 at Franklin Medical Center. Mr. Plunk was an employee for Martin Brothers for 20 years. He served active duty in the U.S. Army for 12 years and had two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post #3155. He was currently in the Louisiana National Guard Company A 528th Engr Bn of Winnsboro, La. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Linda Plunk; daughters, Sarah and husband, Billie Massey; and Tonya Phillips, all of Winnsboro; one grandchild, Christian Dilley; sisters, Eva Britton, Snyder, Texas; Edith Wisenor, Largo, Fla.; brothers, Wayne Plunk, Altoona, Fla.; and William Plunk, Alta Bena, Calif.
