Tucker tuckarb701@aol.com January 5, 2006, 8:53 pm The Natchez Democrat, December 2001 Henrietta Carpenter April 16, 1920 - December 6, 2001 ROXIE - Services for Henrietta Carpenter, 81, of Roxie, who died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at her residence, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Roxie Baptist Church with the Revs. Van Windam and E.O. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery of Cranfield Baptist Church under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Carpenter was born April 16, 1920, in Crowville,La., the daughter of Dennis "Dan" and Elsie Tucker. She was a high school graduate. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include one son, Charles Carpenter and wife Liz of Monterey; three grandchildren, Tony Carpenter, Danny and Ronnie Sims; four great-grandchildren; one brother, James Tucker; and three sisters, Ruthie Fuller, Adell Black and Odessa Johnson. Pallbearers will be Eddie Fuller, Tony Carpenter, Danny Sims, Doug Ballard, Mike Cook and Ray Simpson. ********************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA December 26, 2001 Submitted March 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Cynthia Lee Smith DeBlieux Graveside services for Cynthia Lee Smith DeBlieux, 82, were held Sunday at Ogden Cemetery with Dr. Paul Kolb officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mrs. DeBlieux, known to everyone as "Memaw", died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 at Saint Francis Medical Center. Mrs. DeBlieux graduated from Louisiana State Normal College, now known as NSU, in 1940. She taught a total of 51 years, 31 of those years she taught in the Franklin Parish Public School System at Ogden. She retired in 1973, for 20 years she taught in the private school system at Franklin Academy, she retired in 1993. She enjoyed working in her garden, reading, crocheting, and spending time with the ones she loved. She will be deeply missed. Her parents, Henry Smith and Henrietta Jennings Smith; sister, Agnes "Tiny" Hastings; and brothers, Jack Smith and William "Bud" Smith preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and George Essary of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Dianna DeBlieux; grandchildren, Cheryl DeWitt Fortenberry, Winnsboro; Pamela DeWitt Cannon, Lafayette: Melissa DeWitt Williams, Mangham; David DeBlieux, Devin DeBlieux and Denise DeBlieux, all of Winnsboro; one brother, Will T. Smith and wife, Lola of Many; also 11 great-grandchildren.
