Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Fletcher died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, a retired farmer and a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Leuraleen Fletcher, Baskin; one son, Debs Fletcher Jr., and wife, Eva, Baskin; Sue Cheeks and husband, Victor, Calhoun; grandchildren, Jennifer Pitarro and husband, Steve, of Monroe, Stacie Fletcher, Erin Fletcher, both of Baskin, Corey Cheeks, Baton Rouge, Andrea Cheeks, Ryan Cheeks, both of Calhoun, great-grandchild, Christopher Pitarro; nieces, Pat Fletcher, Bobbie McGaha, Dot Davis, Betty Holmes, Irma Lee Carter and Juanita Jackson; nephews, Marvin and Marion Jackson, Ronnie and Jerry Burns. Danny Pitts officiating. Interment followed at McBroom Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Thompson died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe after an extended illness. She was a native of Franklin Parish, resident of Monroe, an EMT and City Clerk and a member of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her mother Iva L. McBroom. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy W. Thompson, Monroe; son, Warren "Brad" Cook, West Monroe; father, George Thomas McBroom, Baskin; brother, George "Tommy" McBroom Jr., Baskin; three sisters, Lana Cowart, Gonzales; Tammy Oglesby, Lake Providence; Joani McBroom, Baskin; and nieces and nephews. -------------------------------------------------------
