Father Dwight DeJesus will officiate. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Guice was born in Lake Village, Ark., on Feb. 22, 1903 and died on Monday, June 10, 2002. She was a long time resident of Golden Doors Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward A. Guice, four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In her earlier years, Mrs. Guice had been the organist at St. Mary's Church. Pallbearers will be Brad Guice, Jeb Guice, Kevin Guice, Butch Alpe, John Balance, and Bill Marionneaux. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 5, 2002 Submitted March 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Ethel Horne Funeral services for Ethel Horne, 86, of Winnsboro were held Thursday at Boeuf River Baptist Church in Liddieville with the Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating. Burial followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Horne died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Franklin Medical Center. She was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Franklin Parish. Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Killen, Kerman, Calif.; Georgia Lofton and husband Bob, Henderson, Texas; Mary Brown, Lafayette; son, John D. Horne and wife, Gwen, Winnsboro; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchidlren; and three great-great-grandchidlren. Pallbearers were Harold Russell, John W. Gilbert Reese and the Rev. Jack Mulkey officiating. Burial followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Loflin was born Dec. 6, 1919 in Franklin Parish, and passed from this life on Friday, June 7, 2002 at Franklin Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Carrie Iverson, and her husband, Herbert Loflin. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Kathryn Loflin, New Iberia; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
