Clark Funeral services for John W. Clark, 83, of Winnsboro were held at Fish Bayou Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Russell and Jerry Chapman officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Clark died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Franklin Medical Center. He was a native and resident of Franklin Parish, a retired farmer, a member of Fish Bayou Baptist Church and served with the United States Army during WWII. He is preceded in death by his first wife Helen E. Clark; a daughter, Jimmie Kay Clark and a second wife, Eloise Clark. Survivors include his children, Rev. Kelly W. Clark and Hilda Clark both of Winnsboro; a brother, Dalton G. Clark of Bozeman, Montana; six grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a host of step-children and friends. Pallbearers were W. L. Robins, John L. Scott, Garland Rodgers, Edward Spells, Dusty Ward and Jerry Sutherlin. L.' Collins Funeral services for Jewell "J.L." Collins, 94 of Winnsboro were held Monday at Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Burial followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Collins was born July 23, 1909 and died Friday, July 4, 2003 at Magnolia Living Center in Winnsboro. Survivors include a daughter, Fran Collins, Lafayette; sons, Benton Collins, Crowville; Jim Collins, Shreveport; one step-son, Acie Reems, Rayville; two sisters, Lucille Arnold, Gilbert; Annie Lee Kimble, Wisner; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. McCarty   Graveside services for Henry B. McCarty, 88, of West Monroe were held Monday at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro with Bro. Eric Day officiating.   Mr. McCarty was born Nov. 7, 1914 in Winnfield and died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at his residence. He was retired from Continental Carbon in Sulphur in 1977. Upon his retirement he moved to Winnsboro where he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden until he moved to West Monroe in 1999. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald N. McCarty.   Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eunice W. McCarty, West Monroe; son, Garland E. Norman Funeral services for Marshall L. Norman, 86, of Winnsboro were held Saturday at Gill First National Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Mr. Norman was born April 18, 1917 in Kelly, La., and died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at Plantation Manor Nursing Home in Winnsboro. Survivors include a daughter, Billie Carter, Prairieville, La., three granddaughters, Mary Silkowski, Gretna; Katherine Davis, Prairieville; Sherri Rolen, Winnsboro; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece. Jerry Grant officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro. Mr. Slaughter died Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Franklin Guest Home after an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Franklin Parish, he was a retired farmer, owner and operator of a sheet metal shop, plumber and electrician. He was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dell W. Slaughter of Winnsboro; son, J.D. Wilson and wife Emily of Wisner; brother, W.H. Slaughter and wife Betty Sue of Wisner; sister-in-law Beatrice "Sook" Slaughter of Winnsboro; grandchildren Jared, Crystal and Rebecca; also a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers were Joe Slaughter, Mike Wilson, Jarrel Slaughter, Jerry Breithaupt, Clarence Sikes, and Phillip Robinson. Charles Sonnier officiating. Burial followed at Koerth Cemetery under the direction of Kubena Funeral Home. Mrs. Tuttle died Sunday, July 6, 2003. She was a retired civil engineer for the State of Texas, and a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville; and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents Otis George Harris and Ouida Guice Harris, sister, Ouida Marie Harris Denny. Survivors include her husband Travis Tuttle, Kerrville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas Peoples officiating. Burial followed in South Central Cemetery near Wisner, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral home. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and died on Thursday, July 3, 2003. Survivors include a niece, Jeanette Clement and nephew, Albert Chapman, both of Ferriday.
