Kenneth Lukens and the Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating. Interment followed in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro. Mrs. Faulk was a life long member of Liddieville Free Methodist. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Irene Baston Kelly. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, George Ray Faulk, Sr., Winnsboro; one son, George Faulk, Jr., Winnsboro; two daughters, Lisa Cook, Winnsboro; Tammy Benton, West Monroe; three sisters, Lois Ress, Ventress, La.; Jymme Chapman, Garland, Texas; and Mable Ashworth, Baton Rouge; one brother, Albert Kelly, Rancho Murieta, Calif.; five grandchildren; Adam Faulk, Katie Spence, Heath Hunt, Zack Hunt and Kelli Benton; two great-grandchildren; George Adam and Katelynn Faulk. Jimmy Harper officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery. Mr. Hickingbottom died Friday, June 4, 2004 at his residence. He was an auto mechanic and a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bill Hickingbottom and Beatrice Hickingbottom, and brothers, Alton Hickingbottom and Aubrey Hickingbottom; and son, Russell Hickingbottom. Survivors include his wife, Annette Hickingbottom; son, Daniel Hickingbottom, Liddieville; sister, Kelly Bea Messenger, Elk Grove, Calif., and Marie Bowlin of Lodi, Calif.; five brothers, Norman Hickingbottom, Stockton, Calif.; Paul Hickingbottom, Newellton; Roland Hickingbottom, Galt, Calif.; Ralph Hickingbottom, Lodi. Powell, Devin Deblieux, and Joey Hickingbottom. ********************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 30, 2004 Submitted April 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Alta Mae Kincaid Alta Mae Kincaid, age 88, passed away from this earth on Saturday evening, June 26, 2004. Alta was born in Liddieville, Franklin Parish, Louisiana on July 26, 1915 to her parents Wiley Eldridge and Lela Adams Underwood, and was the second oldest of 11 children. She was the valedictorian of her high school class, and married Herman Douglas Kincaid in Liddieville, Louisiana on June 5, 1937. She and Herman moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1939, and then to Houston, Texas area in Galena Park in 1945. They both were very active members of First Baptist Church, Galena Park, from 1945 until 1978, when they moved back to their hometown area of Winnsboro, Louisiana. In Winnsboro, they were active members of Temple Baptist Church. After Herman's death in 1980, Alta remained in Winnsboro until she moved back to the Houston area in 1991 to be near her sons, Douglas and Charles. Alta was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Amelia Lovelace in 1971, her husband, Herman Douglas in 1980, her son Charles Joel in 1999, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Wiley Douglas in Bellville, Texas; her grandchildren, Robert Douglas Kincaid in Sugar Land, Texas, Susan Kincaid Norman in The Woodlands, Texas, Tiffany Kincaid Tocco in Sugar Land, Texas, and Amy Kincaid Rodriguez of Palestine, Texas; and her five great-grandchildren. Alta was a model of Christina living to all those who knew her; her greatest pleasure in life was to be near her family and to do things for others. She modeled her life by her favorite Bible verse-2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Winnsboro, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at the Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, on Tuesday, June 29 at 4-8 p.m., and funeral services also there on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Brother Jeff English, First Baptist Church of Bellville, Texas will preside. Interment will follow at Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, Franklin Parish, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Gene Emfinger, Bobby Kincaid, Larry Peacock, Wayne Peacock, Norman Underwood, Shelby Zeagler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Van Underwood and Herbert Zeagler. ****************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA June 23, 2004 Submitted April 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Ethel Wyatt Otwell Funeral services for Ethel Wyatt Otwell, 78, of Fort Necessity were held Saturday at Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Williams officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro. Mrs. Otwell, affectionately known as "the cake lady" died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at her residence in Winnsboro. She was a member of the Fort Necessity Baptist Church. She worked at Fort Necessity High School cafeteria from 1947 until 1980. Mrs. Otwell was responsible for obtaining the retirement benefits for the cafeteria workers for the State of Louisiana. She called the Secretary of Education who referred her to then Governor McKeithen. Governor McKeithen, after talking with Ethel, included the retirement fund with the education bill which was passed. Mrs. Otwell was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Otwell, father, James Richard Wyatt and mother Pearl (Jones) Wyatt. Survivors include two sisters, Margie McKeithen, Delhi; Katie McKeithen, West Monroe; three great-nephews, Wayne, James and David Robinson, who called her "Mama Ethel", all of Winnsboro; 10 nephews, four nieces, and other great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dennis Jimes, Donald Ladd Sr., Donald Ladd, Jr., Larry Lane Anderson, Jerry McKeithen, and Wayne Robinson. ******************************************
