Smith ********************************************* The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA July 13, 2005 Submitted August 2006 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Audrey Comeaux Funeral services for Audrey Comeaux, 89, of Winnsboro will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Burial will follow in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Comeaux was a homemaker and passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005. She is preceded in death by husband: John D. Comeaux; daughter, Penny Comeaux Rockett; and son Roy Douglas Comeaux. Survivors include a son, Glen Comeaux and wife, Irene of Pascagoula, Miss.; daughter-in-law, Beverly Comeaux of Monroe; eight grandchildren: Connie Comeaux, Honolulu, HI.; Christopher Comeaux, Rock Island, Illinois; Matthew Comeaux, Moline, Illinois; Patrick Comeaux, Monroe; Mark Comeaux and Scott Comeaux, both of Denham Springs; Erin Rockett, Ruston; and Shannon Rockett, Dallas, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Comeaux, Scott Comeaux, Christopher Comeaux, Patrick Comeaux, Tony White and Wayne Hendry. Interment will take place in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Winnsboro. Officiating the services will be Rev. James McMurray and Rev. Stacy Givens. He was born to the union of Iley and Ruby Bailey Rice on March 26, 1950 in Winnsboro, and passed from this life Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. Mr. Rice was raised in the Pentecostal Faith and was a long time Franklin Parish farmer. In addition to his occupation as a farmer, Mr. Rice enjoyed working as a machanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Richard Rice and a sister Onedia Varnell. Mr. Rice leaves behind two children; Kristy Crain and Kenny Rice and daughter-in-law e Angela Rice all of Jigger; one brother Stanley Rice, Sr. of Jigger; two sisters Aline Wheeler of Hebert, and Sue Robinson of Gilbert; and four grandchildren Kimberly Crain, Haley Crain, Ashlyn Crain and Michael Rice. Smith Funeral services for Sallie E. Smith, age 102, of Mangham were held on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Dennis Evans officiating. Interment followed in Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, LA. She was born on September 27, 1902 near Baskin, and passed from this life on Saturday, July 9, 2005 in Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Assembly of God, and was the youngest of eight children born to Henry and Lula Sims Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harvey Smith, two sisters Liddie and Hattie; and five brothers, Alex, Louie, Lonnie, Willie and Tommie. Mrs. Smith married late in life and never had children. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and a special niece and care giver Frances Smith Metcalf of Mangham. Pallbearers were David Barton, John Evans, Wesley Jones, Buddy Parks, George Parks, and Kenneth Smith.
