Pitts ******************************************** ******************************************** The Franklin Sun Winnsboro, LA October 26, 2005 Submitted May 2009 by: Glenda Warner Boyd Daisy Cruse Funeral services for Daisy Cruse, 83, of Winnsboro were held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2005 in First United Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro with Rev. Floyd Hawthorne and Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Interment followed in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Cruse was born to the union of her parents Arthur and Beatrice Richmond Poole on October 27, 1921 in Aimwell, La and passed from this life on October 22, 2005 at her residence in Winnsboro. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lacy Cruse. Mrs. Cruse is survived by five children Mary Davis of Winnsboro, Charles Cruse of Winnsboro, Brenda Cruse of Winnsboro, Caroline Wright of Crowville, and Marvin Cruse of Winnsboro; two brothers Bill Pool and W.O. Poole; one sister Sarah Massey all of Aimwell; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers were Brad Chapman, Billy Coenon, Lamar Johnson, Eugene Parker, Chet Traylor, and Michael Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Crain, Bobby Davis, J.W. Pitts Funeral services for Florine T. Pitts, 87, of Winnsboro will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. John Albright and Rev. Mary Ann Collie officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born March 30, 1918 in Cotulla, TX and died Saturday, October 22, 2005 in Shreveport. She was a member of First Christian Church and served as pianist and organist for Winnsboro Presbyterian Church and Baskin Methodist/ Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Pitts, a piano teacher most of her life, used her talent as a ministry serving families at weddings, funerals and entertaining nursing home residents throughout the state. She was preceded in death by her parents A. B. and Mabel Davis Taylor; husband Frank Pitts, a brother and a sister. She is survived by 7 children Frank Pitts, Jr. and wife Kathleen of Detroit, Mich., Judith Blair and husband Roscoe of McEwen, Tenn., Robert Pitts and wife Lee of Goodyear, Ariz., Chester Pitts and wife Leslie of Haughton, Charles Pitts of Beaumont, Texas, Albert Pitts and wife Gail of Benton, and Ross Pitts of Maitland, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
