She died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at her residence in St. Joseph. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Franklin Parish for many years. She was active in Christ Episcopal Church also serving on the Vestry and Altar Guild, Bruin Vidal Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the First Families of Mississippi, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the War of 1812, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and Daughters of the American Colonist. Miss Bondurant was preceded in death by her father, Albert Gay Bondurant, and her mother, Mary Bondurant. Survivors include sister, Catherine Prince of Natchez, Miss.; brothers, Albert Gay Bondurant and wife Clotile of Baker, and Robert Kirk Bondurant of Quepos, Costa Rica; nieces, Catherine Ruth Prince of Natchez, and Cathy Bondurant McHugh and husband David of Zachary; nephew, Albert W. Robert Martin, Rev Floyd Hawthorne, Rev. Tommy Cotton, Jr. and Rev. David Mayo officiating. Interment followed in Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. He was born to Valentine and Annie Elizabeth Boothe on Nov. 19, 1928 in Harrisonburg, and passed form this life Friday, Dec. 9, 2005 at his residence in Winnsboro. Bro. Jesse began preaching at the age of 15. He graduated valedictorian from International Bible College in 1948. On September 12, 1948 he married Elizabeth Allen Cotten in Harrisonburg. Together they started his ministry serving churches in Tennessee and Arkansas before moving to the Winnsboro area where he was pastor Wayside Pentecostal Church for 32 years. After serving Wayside, Bro. Jesse served as interim pastor in Jonesville and in Wisner. In addition to his ministry, Bro. Jesse was a WWII Army veteran serving in the South Pacific as a mortar machine gunner and was retired from the Department of Transportation and Development having been employed 30 years. He devoted his life God, and truly cherished his family, and had a passion for fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Dwight Edward Boothe; four brothers; one sister; and two great granddaughters Mackenzie Faith and Valerie Grace Sutherlin. He was born to Alma Reeves (Mercer) and James Tillman Smith on August 7, 1951 in Winnsboro and went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 16, 2005 at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville. Mr. Smith married Carolyn Howard on March 28, 1969 in Winnsboro. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a volunteer baseball coach for many years. He was a skilled carpenter and former Police Chief of Gilbert. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Decker Mercer; and father-in-law Doyle Howard. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 36 years Carolyn Howard Smith; children Nick Smith of Gilbert, Jamie Smith and wife Teresa of Winnsboro; granddaughter (the light of his life) Britnie Smith; four sisters Merlene Smith of Columbia, Frances Guy of Winnsboro, Marie Stephenson of Winnsboro, Maxine Scarborough and husband Tony of Gilbert; mother-in-law Willie Mae Howard; brother-in-law Glenn Howard; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and young men that he coached throughout the years. He was born to the union of Osborn Edward and Audrey Denton Whitney on September 23, 1935 in Winnsboro and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 at his home near Winnsboro. Mr. Whitney, a devout Christian, attended Christian Fellowship Church. He retired from the State Department of Elections, handling the voting booths for Franklin Parish for many years. He was widely known throughout north Louisiana as the owner of Whitney's Nursery and Landscaping for the past 32 years. He married Ola Mae Cockerham on July 28, 1954. He and his wife graciously opened their home and their hearts to many foster children throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Ola Mae Whitney of Winnsboro; three children Jackie Kimball and husband C.C. of Memphis, Tenn., Cindy Humphries and husband Randy, and Mark Whitney and wife Amy all of Winnsboro; a brother Bobby Whitney and wife Shirley of Winnsboro; grandchildren Skipper, Christy, Lucas, Julie, Courtney, Jamie and Rich: great grandchildren Coby, Kylie, Caleb, Cooper, Luke, Ethan, Sean Tyler, Hayden, and Chandler, foster children Susan, Cynthia, Ron, Sue Lynn, Jessie, Jessica, Sheena, Leigh Ann, Ramona and Paul: numerous other relatives and a host of friends. She was born to Herbert and Bessie Johnson Davis on September 6, 1914 in Kokomo, Miss., and passed from this life Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro and a member of the Mizpah Chapter of the Eastern Lodge # 15. She retired as Janitorial Supervisor at Franklin Medical Center. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends throughout her life, and extended her kindness to the elderly citizens of Franklin Parish, cooking and tending to them when ever there was a need. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clayton Wilson; five brothers Hoyt Davis, Fraim Davis, James Davis, Herbert Davis, Jr. and her twin Louis Davis; and three sisters Birtie Lee Davis, Minnie Pittman, and Mary Wilson.
