A remembrance service was held Thursday at Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Joe Serrin, the Rev. Raymond Beard, the Rev. Austin Spell and the Rev. George Bates conducted the service. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings. Mr. Ardoin died peacefully at home, with his family in Winnsboro, on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. He was born in Elton to his parents, Coseur Ardoin Sr. and Elda Chapman. Mr. Ardoin was a native of Elton, a former resident of Jennings and a resident of Winnsboro for the last nine years. He served in the Army. After moving to Winnsboro he spent most of his time enjoying his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a avid sportsman and won the State Duck Calling Contest. Survivors include his wife, Allie Monceaux Ardoin of Winnsboro; one son, Melvin Ardoin and his wife, Della of Monroe; one daughter, Elaine Cormier of Winnsboro; four grandchildren: Dana Cormier of Winnsboro, Natalie Coughran and her husband, Dr. Jimmy of Winnsboro; Shannon Ardoin and his wife, Julie of West Monroe; Nickie Harris and her husband, Rodney of Bastrop; seven great grandchildren: Aaron, Chelsea, Adam, Stephen, Noah, Gavin and Nicholas; nephew and best friend, Joe Serrin of Jennings. Louis Sklar celebrating the mass. Dr. Harry Boyd delivered the eulogy. Interment followed in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Baccarini was born on June 22, 1939 in Winnsboro and passed from this life Thursday, May 3, 2007 in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a devoted Christian and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, attended Tulane University and received his BA degree at Northeast Louisiana University, where he also received his Masters + 30. Baccarini served for many years in the Franklin Parish School System as an educator and a coach. After he left the classrooms and coaching duties, he began to work in a supervisory capacity for the Franklin Parish School Board. After retiring from the professional education field, Mr. Baccarini worked at Franklin State Bank in Winnsboro as a highly valued employee. Baccarini served his community and profession in many capacities. He worked in the professional organizations associated with education such as the LA School Supervisors Association. He was active in the Jaycees where his service merited the Jaycee of the year Award and other distinctions. Baccarini was elected to the Franklin Parish Police Jury, serving in the Regional Jury Association as well as being a member of the Governor's Task Force For the Future. He served on the North Delta Regional Planning and Development District Board, and was active in volunteer work with the Junior Miss Program in Franklin Parish for over 15 years. More recently, Baccarini helped coach the teams of a fledgling athletic program at Franklin Academy as a volunteer. He delighted in the hobby of cooking. He served many dishes of superb food to many appreciative recipients. He loved his family and friends and they loved him. Baccarini never really retired. He just took some time off to rest. He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Linda Baccarini, of Winnsboro; two sons, Jon Michael Baccarini, of Monroe; and Greg Baccarini of Mt. Vernon, NY; sister, Ernestine Funderburk, of Winnsboro; and nephew, J. Funderburk, of Baton Rouge; as well as many other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers were J. H. "Jimbo" Colvin, J.W. He was 23. He was attending LSU and would have graduated May 18th, majoring in finance. He touched many hearts with his indefatigable energy and wit. He was a superb high school athlete at 6' 4 and over 200 pounds. He received numerous honors including District Most Valuable Player Award in both basketball and baseball. He was All-State in both sports, also. He accomplished so much despite battling juvenile diabetes since the age 13. Blake's greatest love, other than sports, was guitar. His favorite band was Metallica and could play all of their songs note for note. He is survived by his parents Mike and Donna Tucker of Winnsboro; four sisters Anna Beth Whittington and husband Robert of Baton Rouge, Dr. Mindy Williams of Shreveport, Kristie McFarland and husband Tim of Shreveport, and Dr. Dawn Pennebaker and husband Rodney of West Monroe; grandparents Dacky Tucker of Winnsboro and D. G. "Lucky" Barnes of Crowville. He also leaves behind special friend, Diana Wolffe. Preceding him in death were maternal grandmother Andre Barnes and paternal grandfather Lt. John R. Tucker. She was born to Elzie and Caroline Brownell Woods on July 22, 1925 in Baskin and passed from this life Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Mrs. Zeagler was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years Herbert Zeagler; son Stephen Kent Zeagler; and a brother James "Buddy" Woods. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Nelda and Gene Emfinger of Winnsboro; daughter-in-law Carryn Zeagler of Watson; two grandsons Jason Emfinger and wife Charlyn and Damon Emfinger and wife Heather all of Winnsboro; three step-granddaughters Kelsie, Monica and Valerie Wright; and four great-grandchildren Allen Michael, Grant, Jacob, and Carlie Emfinger. She also leaves behind two brothers Bobby Woods and wife Helen, and Elzie Woods, Jr. and wife Oneida; two sisters-in-law Eula Pickering and husband James of West Monroe and Lela Woods of Baskin; three very special friends Mildred Sullivan, Ruby Lee, and Barbara Henry; and a great number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Thelma Zeagler was a retired Deputy Tax Assessor for Franklin Parish, a position she held for 26 years. Prior to that, she and her husband owned and operated Zeagler's Grocery and Market in Winnsboro. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Thelma was an excellent seamstress, a great cook, and a good friend to all who knew her. Her retirement years were spent enjoying her family which included her two grandsons whom she loved dearly and four great-grandchildren whom she loved to spoil with lots of cookies, ice-cream and "grits 'n' eggs." Her ready smile and friendly ways endeared her to those she met, and she will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Pallbearers were J.W.
