Her real passion was missions and she served as chairwoman of the Women's Missionary Union for many years. She had a genuine love for the Lord and her family. Born on May 23, 1924, Mr. Price had been a citizen of Franklin Parish for 83 years, often giving of his time and energy for the good of his home parish. For eight years, Mr. Price served on the Franklin Parish Police Jury (one term as president of the jury). He worked diligently to establish the Franklin Parish Hospital, now know as Franklin Medical Center. He also was instrumental in the advancement of the Franklin Parish Library. For the past forty years, Mr. Price has served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative, often giving of his time to insure the lowest rates and excellent service to all of the cooperative's customers. Mr. Price was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro. He owned and operated a large farming operation and at 83, was still actively involved in his cattle operation. Survived by his loving wife, Elaine Browder Price, they had been married for 60 years. He also leaves behind a sister, Kathryn McCain of Winnsboro, and two sons: David Price and wife Kathy, and George Price, Jr. and wife Debbie, all of Winnsboro. His loving grandchildren are Ben Price, Sara Turner, Lynsey Rea, George Price, III , and Betsy Price. He had six great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maxine Till; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Roy "Bo" and Brenda Till, and Noah Charles "Chuck" and Carol Till; four grandchildren: Megan Till, Lauren Till, Nathan Dispenza and Kyle Dispenza; mother, Lois Till; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlos and Martha Till, and Henry and Carolyn Till; special friends, Bill and Marie McClanahan of Tennessee; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and a host of friends. He was a longtime resident of Sonora, California, but had moved back to Louisiana in 2004. He was born in Harris County Texas and grew up in Monroe, Louisiana, graduating from Ouachita Parish High School in 1943. He then attended BYU for a short time before serving in the US Navy and the US Army during World War II. Mr. Tucker is preceded in death by his parents William and Martha Jane Walters Tucker, sisters Grace Tucker Cohen and Mildred Tucker Johns, and brothers Sam and Lucius Tucker. Burial followed at the New Winnsboro Cemetery, under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Mr. Westerburg was born October 31, 1915 and passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007. He was formerly of Winnsboro, and a long time resident of Melbourne, Fla. As a young adult, he dabbled in a variety of employment opportunities: a butcher at Piggly Wiggly, Sound Technician at the Winnsboro Princess Theatre, professional studio photographer, State Motorcycle Policeman, and a County Commissioner. He was instrumental in building the City Court House in Winnsboro, La. World War II intervened, and Mr. Westerburg flew 35 missions in the ball turret of the Flying Fortress B-17, as a member of the 95th Bomb Group and Mighty 8th Air Force. Decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross, he attended Louisiana Tech on the GI Bill, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering, with a new wife (Bessie Noble) and two babies, Dottie Rose and Dickie Boy. RCA hired Louis to install the initial down-range tracking system for the space program based in Cape Canaveral, Fla. Ten years later, Lou was promoted to Chief of Dale Automation at Patrick AFB, where he worked until he retired. Lou and Bess loved church work, Holy Land travel, politics, classic literature, and classical and gospel music. Mr. Westerburg surrounded himself with engineering hobbies and a collection of musical instruments. He taught violin and Sunday School as a member of First Baptist Church of Dawes, Ala. Mr. Westerburg is survived by his brother, Joe; daughter Dottie, son Dick and grandchildren Trey, Kyle, Afton, and Kevin.
