He raised and showed registered paint horses and won many ribbons and trophies. Mr. Honeycutt was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Harrisonburg, and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria. Mr. Honeycutt faithfully served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Harrisonburg; he retired from the printing industry, and became a rancher. He was active in the Cattleman's Association, twice past district governor of the Lions Club, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Honeycutt; mother, Mary Lea (Hughes) Honeycutt; son, Robert A. Honeycutt, Jr.; sister, Margaret Green; infant sister, Mary Honeycutt; granddaughter, Melissa Honeycutt.
