Mrs. Boothe was born to Robert O. and Ardis Lenora Fleming Thompson on Aug. 18, 1929 in Swartz and passed from this life Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 in West Monroe. Mrs. Boothe was a member of Wisner First Baptist Church. She retired as cafeteria manager at Wisner High and Elementary Schools. She was known by her many friends and loving family as a caring person who took great joy in "doing for others". She had been a resident of Winnsboro f or 76 years. She and Marion Floyd Brown had a successful grocery store, "Brown's Grocery" from October 18, 1939 until July 31, 1966, a total of 27 years. Rocky was born to the union of his parents, George Pardue and Earnestine Meyers Carter on July 13, 1951, in Winnsboro, and passed from this life on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at M. D. Anderson in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. He was a member of Winnsboro First Baptist Church. He was a Welding Instructor with Louisiana Technical College in Winnsboro. Rocky enjoyed life and gave back to his community, where he spent 30 years coaching and umpiring girls' softball. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and member of the Turkey Creek Bass Club and The Twin Oaks Country Club. He will forever be known and remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, but the pride and joy of his heart were his four precious grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father: George Pardue Carter Sr.; and his brother-in-law: Roy Gonzalez. Cooper will be Friday, November 27, 2009 at the First Pentecostal Church of Wisner, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Kings Cemetery under the direction of Youngs Funeral Home. Reverend Cooper was born on January 24, 1934 in Wisner, Louisiana. He passed away on November 24, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Rev. Cooper graduated with a Masters Degree in Theology from the Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, Mississippi. He began his pastoral ministry by starting a home mission work in Red Bay, Alabama while on staff at PBI. He later served as Assistant Pastor to Rev. W.E. Fuller at the First United Pentecostal Church in Natchez, MS and concluded his ministry as founder and pastor of the First Pentecostal Church in Vidalia which he like to call: The Church of Whats Happening Now. He served in the United States Navy and was also a licensed Master Barber and Auctioneer He was a man who loved Jesus and would share the message of Gods love to anyone he came in contact with. He never met a stranger and would run into someone he knew everywhere he went. He had so much love and compassion to the human race and was always willing to do whatever he could to make someones life better. He loved to read a newspaper and his Bible while enjoying a strong cup of coffee and was always available to preach a funeral, perform a wedding or dedicate a baby at a moments notice. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alpha (Sis) Cooper, his brother, Rev. Travis (Buddy) Cooper, two sisters, Estelle Boothe and Elaine Cooper, our precious half-sister Marlene Rogers Asbill and his special friend, Irene Parker, Vidalia, La. Mrs. Ezell was born June 27, 1914 outside Gilbert, and passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at Franklin Medical Center. She was one of 10 children born to Carrie Evelyn and Richard V. Arnold. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and eight siblings leaving one surviving brother, R. V. Arnold Jr. She was also preceded in death by her husband Willie L. Ezell Sr. and two sons Willie L. Ezell Jr. "Billy" and Donald W. Ezell; one granddaughter, Donna Lynn Ezell. She was a resident of Gilbert, homemaker, and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked in all areas of the church all her life still teaching Sunday School until the age of 92. She owned and operated a restaurant in Wisner for approximately 10 years at which time she purchased and operated a Retail Dry Goods known as Mai Dees until her retirement at 68. Survivors include five children: Gay Hall of Colulmbia; Ann Hilbun and husband Lionel Bee of Gilbert; Lee Ezell and wife Tommalynn of Gilbert; Nancy Burnthorn and husband Kelly of Sumerduck, Va.; and Flo Ferrington and husband John of Wisner;13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was in the process of rebuilding two '55 Chevy's. He was a farmer for over 25 years. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, "papaw", son, brother and friend. He was a member of the Winnsboro First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon. A graduate of Franklin Academy and Louisiana Tech University, he preformed in several summer productions at The Princess Theatre, which nominated him in 2008 for the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council's Volunteer of the Year. He was known for his love and kindness, and happily shared his time and culinary skills with the community. "Chef Scotty" was an ardent baseball and football fan and cheered on the Tech Bulldogs, LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernie. Scotty is survived by his wife, Kay, his stepdaughter, Adrienne Gardner LaFrance, his parents, Dr. and Mrs. L. W. She was a resident of Gilbert, a homemaker, and a member of the Bayou Macon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Reeves; father, Harvey Rushing; mother, Essie (Thornhill) Rushing; brother, John H. Rushing; sister, Pauline Temple. She was a housewife and mother always putting her family first. Maggie was a member of South Central Baptist Church where she taught the Beginners class in Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoying a good laugh with family and friends.
