Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Rev. Karen Rogers assisted by Rev. S.B. Boyett officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Anders was a retired bookkeeper, homemaker, a devoted and cherished mother and grandmother, and a lifelong resident of Winnsboro. She will best be remembered by friends and family for her love of a wide variety of music. A talented musician, Mrs. Anders served as pianist and organist for first United Methodist Church of Winnsboro for over 50 years, as accompanist to numerous senior and junior choirs, weddings, funerals and church social function. She recently retired from the First Presbyterian Church where she and her sister Elsie had served in the same capacity accompanist, playing on alternating Sundays. Mrs. Anders was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Anders Jr.; son-in-law, Bobby Boyett; brother, Raymond R. Taliaferro; and a sister, Mary Christina Taliaferro. She is survived by her loving sister, Mrs. Elsie T. Putnam of Winnsboro; daughter, Millicent Anders Boyett of Katy, Texas; son, Dr. David R. Anders and wife Sherry of Winnsboro; grandchildren, David Boyett, Anna Gerus, Christina Lucas, Sarah Anders, Rachel Anders and Brad Anders; seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Johnny Guice, Russell Etheridge, Chris Cruse, John Strapp, Billy R. Smith and Aaron Scott.
