Vontenna S. Barnhill
 
Funeral services for Vontenna S. Barnhill, 71 of Sicly Island were held 
Saturday at First Pentecostal Church, in Wisner with the Rev. Bill Cotten 
and the Rev. Roy Archer officiating.
 
Interment followed at New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of 
Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Mrs. Barnhill died Friday, April 21, 2000 at her residence after an 
extended illness.  She was a resident of Catahoula Parish, a 
homemaker, a retired nurse and a member of New Hope Pentecostal 
Church in Leland.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Barnhill, 
parents, Dewey and Hester Stockman, and a brother, Douglas Stockman.
 
 
Survivors include her children, Roland Barnhill of Ridgecrest; Elaine Cole, 
Ruth Cotten, Rhonda Davis all of Sicily Island; Rebecca Joyce Netherland 
of Denham Springs; Ilene Buckles of Walker; sisters, Marlene Chase of 
Pineville; Helen Bartmess of Winnsboro; brothers, Doyle Stockman of 
Harrisonburg; Stewart Stockman of Manifest; Carlton Stockman of Sicily
Island; R.t. Stockman of Monterey and Dewey Wayne Stockman of Rhinehart;
Eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
 
Pallbearers were nephews, Randy Stockman, Steven Stockman, Kenny Case, Gary 
Stockman, Kevin Stockman and Kenneth Stockman.
 
Grandsons and other nephews served as honorary pallbearers.
