Cecil Eugene "Gene" Blount
 
 
Funeral services for Cecil Eugene "Gene" Blount, 60, of Winnsboro were held Thursday 
at Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Huey Hughes and John Solloway 
officiating.
 
Interment followed at Lone Cedar Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Riser 
First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Mr. Blount died Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at Franklin Medical Center.  He was a successful 
businessman and father, and associated with the Winnsboro Congregation of Jehovah's 
Witness.
 
Mr. Blount was preceeded in death by his father, T.J. Blount, and brother, Leroy Blount.
 
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Gwin Blount of Winnsboro; children, Kevin Blount and 
wife Carla; Mike Blount and wife Tyeece both of Winnsboro; Greg Blount and wife Daphne 
of Vivan, Louisiana; Krista Calhoun and husband Mickey of Winnsboro; step-children, Tony
Hughes and wife Allison, Graylon Hughes and wife Shannon, Carmen Hughes all of
Winnsboro; 
Kent Hughes and wife Chat of Monroe; mother, Aura Bell Blount of Winnsboro; sister
Patrica 
Blount of Pinecrest, Louisiana; brothers, Bobby Blount of Wisner; Kenneth Blount of
Shreveport;
and 11 grandchildren.
 
Pallbearers were Sam Free, Jerry Cupit, Craig Gwin, Jack Hammons, Billy Ashley and
Mike 
McKenzie.
 
Honorary pallbearers were Aaron Posey and J.E. Emfinger.
