Brewer Funeral services for Malcolm N. Brewer, 97, of Harrisonburg were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Boone officiating. Interment followed at New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Brewer died Sunday, November 12, 2000 at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena after an extended illness. He was a resident of Harrisonburg, retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg. Survivors include his wife, Majorie C. Brewer of Harrisonburg; children, Melvin R. Brewer of McComb, Mississippi; Ralph Brewer of Alabama; Laverne B. McMillin of Metairie; Ruby Ann Brewer of Virginia; Pamela B. Pitts of Slidell; brother, Otis Brewer of Natchez, Mississippi; sister, Ruby Tractenbery of Baton Rouge; eight grand- children, 19 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dean Cannaday, Allen "Bill" Marshall, Elton Eubanks, Howard Cater, Lamar Wyles, Clarence Routon, Clifton "Skip" Jackson and Steve Gibson.
