Mrs. Martha E. Smith
Mrs. Martha E. Smith of Liddieville succumbed to a lengthy 
illness at her home at 4:50 p.m. Saturday.  She was 86 years old.
Graveside services for Mrs. Smith were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday
at Ogden cemetery, with the Rev. Rhodes officiating.
Survivors of Mrs. Smith, born February 16, 1871 at Mississippi, 
are three sons, John W. Smith of Jena and W. Henry and B. Taft, 
both of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Brown, Winnsboro, and 
Mrs. Dan Parker, Newellton; a brother, Charlie Tarver, Pioneer.
Pallbearers were W.M. Keyes, P.L. Dark, T.J. Martin, Elvin Adams,
Curtis Newman and Pete Wiggins; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Note: Mrs. Martha E. "Lil" Tarver Brown was the d/o Thomas Ira 
and Mary E. Tarver.
