Bob Rowland officiating. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday. Mr. Gossett died Saturday, September 16, 2000 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1931 in Tensas Parish, resided in Vidalia since 1972, was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Irma Lee Gossett of Vidalia; son, Burton Gossett of Vidalia; eight daughters, Shirley Martin of Ferriday; Bobbie Hogue of Vicks- burg; Jane Blaylock of Winnsboro; Laurene People of Pascagoula, Mississippi; Gloria Gossett of Alexandria; Kay Welch of Natchez, Miss.; Abbigail Southern and Ellie Lee Mater both of Vidalia; brother, Hoover Gossett of Newellton; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Derrick Welch, Scott Blaylock, Michael Blaylock, Ricky LeMaster, Lance Morrison, Travis McElwee, Johnny Ray Wilson, Doyle Morris and Arnie Hogue.
