Charles R. Langford and the Rev. Ronald Ferrington officiating. Interment followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. King died Saturday, December 25, 1999 in Winnsboro. She was preceded in death by parents and a daughter Mildred Carolyn Brown. Mrs King was born November 24, 1903 in Olla. She attended Conservatory of Music in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a medical secretary to the administrator of E. A. Conley Hospital for 18 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. King of Baton Rouge; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford R. King of Ferriday; seven grandchildren: Charles G. King Jr. of Mobile, Alabama; Stacy Marlene King of New Orleans; Cary Edward King of Austin, Texas; Christopher H. King of Ferriday; Connie Carice Hawsey of Winnsboro; Randolph Keith Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas; Micheal Kirby Brown of Farmerville; five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Marjorie McLemore and Mable Bennett both of Monroe; Yvonne Walters of West Monroe; and one brother, Jarrell E. Godfrey Sr. of Winnsboro.
