"Shorty" Lupo Funeral services for James M. "Shorty" Lupo, 89, of Winnsboro were held Wednesday at the Community Memorial Chapel with the Rev. A.J. Kimball and the Rev. Stanley Thrift officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Lupo died Monday, August 21, 2000 at Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired farmer, served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and attended the Pentecostal Faith. Mr. Lupo was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Betty Lupo; sisters and brothers, Hattie Favors, Sanders Lupo, Katie Parker and Jack Lupo. Survivors include his brothers, Henry Lupo of Camden, Arkansas; Pete Lupo and Claude Lupo both of Winnsboro; sister, Eva Willard of Vidalia; also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were John Parker, Eugene Parker, Tommy Lupo, Richard Lupo, George Parker, and Raymond Lupo. Honorary pallbearer was Dewey Favors.
