D. "Decker" Mercer Funeral services for F.D. "Decker" Mercer, 78, of Liddieville were held Friday at Boeuf River Baptist Church of Liddieville with the Rev. George Ferrington, the Rev. Bobby Ensminger, the Rev. Francis Guy and the Rev. Chad Hatton officiating. Burial followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Mercer was born December 12, 1921 in Franklin Parish and died July 26, 2000 at Franklin Medical Center. He was a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church and a retired mechanic of Franklin Parish Police Jury. Survivors include his wife, Alma Reeves Mercer of Liddieville; son, Johnny Mercer and wife Monnie of West Monroe; step-son, James Earl Smith and wife Carolyn of Gilbert; four step-daughters, Merlene Smith of Anacuac, Texas; Marie Stephenson and Francis Guy both of Winnsboro; and Maxine and Tony Scarbrough of Gilbert; sister Garland Thomas; 12 grandchildren, Nikki Mercer Roux, John Mercer, Tony Stephenson, Ricky Smith, Lisa Watts, Danny Smith, Angie Gutherie, Gerald Trahan, Jamie Smith, Nick Smith, Jerry Don Hatton and Joel Hatton; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Danny Smith, Tony Stephenson, Gerald Trahan, John Mercer, James Earl Smith and Earl Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Craine, Ricky Smith, Ronnie Hatton, Jeffery Don Hatton, Joel Hatton, Jamie Smith, Nick Smith, Roy Thomas, Charles Thomas, Spooky Ferrington and Arnold Ferrington.
