"Joey" Monfette Funeral services for James O. "Joey" Monfette, 14, were held Saturday at the Chapel of Community Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Eubanks, the Rev. Stanley Thrift and the Rev. Ricky Adams officiating. Interment with R,O.T.C. honors followed at South Central Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Joey died Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was a resident of West Monroe and a honor student at West Monroe High School. He was a member of the BETA Club, R.O.T.C. and the football team. Joey was also named in students Who' Who. He is survived by his parents, Melba and Craid Monfette of West Monroe; brother, Mitchell Monfette of West Monroe; grandparents, Carter and Ruby Robertson of Wisner; Craig and Sue Monfette of Newport, Vermont; Lanny and Margaret Granger of Lakeland and Theresa Ducote of Vinton; great-grandparents, Melba and Woody Leger of Sulpher; Nolan Granger of Vinton; Alfred and Blanche Monfette of Newport, Vermont; Helen Laramie of Burgess Vermont; also by Troy Ducote; Aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. Pallbearers were Cadets of the R.O.T.C., Tony Hodge, Charles Koferog, Chase Gosset, JamesPrice, Chris Sasser and Daniel Zuber. Honorary pallbearer was Jason Watkins.
