Parks, Sister of Winnfield Man, Buried Jan. 6 Mrs. Melvina Parks, 70, wife of Henry R. Parks, of Winnsboro, Route 2, passed away on January 5 at their home near Liddieville after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held January 6, at 2 p.m. at the Bouef River Baptist Church followed with burial in the Liddieville Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, Henry R. Parks; two sons, Ira of Winnsboro and William M. of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Cryer of Natchitoches; four grandchildren; five brothers, Ivy Simon, Lewis Simon, Robert Simon, Monroe Simon, all of Winnsboro; and Clarence Simon of Winnfield; five sisters, Mrs. Idelle McCarty, Mrs. Ellen Smith, Mrs. Jane Williams, Mrs. Nancy Nugent, all of Winnsboro, Mrs. Lila Faith, Shreveport. Attending the funeral from Winnfield were her brother, Clarence Simon, Mrs. Bessie Martin, niece, and Mrs. Monroe Jordan.
