Steve Blaylock officiating. Mr. Pierce died Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, following a lengthy illness. He was a retired foreman with Enon (Florida Gas), a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was born in Crowville, and had lived in Columbus for the past six years, and formerly lived in Plaquemine, La. Suvivors include his wife Dorothy Tatum Pierce, Columbus; daughter, Patricia Ann Flowers, Caldeonia, Miss.; sisters, Margarette Bond and Dorothy Nell Wiggins, both of Crowville; Johnnie Wiley, Jeanette Leslie and Diane McMurray all of Winnsboro; and brother James Wilson Pierce, Smyrna, Tenn.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tommy Ashley, Jerry Pierce, John Ainsworth. Johnny Tatum, Tommy young and David Turner.
