Joseph L. Pleasants
 
Funeral services for Joseph L. Pleasants, 82, of Delhi were held Tuesday,
October 3, at Lamar Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Ganey, the Rev. 
Marion Collier and the Rev. Jimmy Goodman officiating. 
 
Interment followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Community 
Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Mr. Pleasants died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at Richalnd Parish Hospital in 
Delhi, after an extended illness.  He was a resident of Franklin Parish, a 
member of Lamar Baptist Church and a retired fireman with the city of 
Memphis, Tennessee.
 
Survivors include his wife, Katherin Pleasants of Delhi;  children, Wes Pleasants 
and wife Sharon of Monroe;  Wayne Pleasants and wife Cathy of Youngsville; 
Kathy Chapman and  husband Roy Sr. of Monroe; sisters and brothers, Mabel 
Bryan of Summerville, Tennessee; Norman Pleasants of Memphis, Tenn; Evelyn 
Chambers of Collierville, Tenn.; Teen Baldwin of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren,
Trey Pleasants, Eric Pleasants, Matt Trichel, Carrie Pleasants, Ryan Pleasants,
Josie Fox and husband Adam, Kristy Chapman and Roy Chapman Jr.; great-
grandchildren, Skyler Pleasants, Madeline Chapman and Seth Fox. 
 
Pallbearers were Trey Pleasants, Eric Pleasants, Ryan Pleasants, Matt Trichel, 
Roy Chapman Sr., and Allen Ogden.
 
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Chapman Sr. and Adam Fox.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Lamar Baptist Church.
