CLAUDINE PICKERING PRATHER

Funeral service for Ms. Claudine Prather, 71, of Gilbert, will take place at 
2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in the chapel of Calvary Baptist Church, 
Gilbert, LA. Rev. Bobby Ensminger will officiate the service and interment will 
follow at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, all under the direction of 
Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA.

Ms. Claudine, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired banker, was born 
to the union of Edward Nelson Pickering and Juanita Dubell Pickering on 
November 18, 1944 in Wisner, LA and went to her heavenly home on June 19, 2016 
in Winnsboro, LA. Ms. Claudine was a loving mother and grandmother who loved 
her church and church family. She was active in several clubs, including the 
Franklin Parish Quilting Club and Gilbert Women's Club. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, Edward and Juanita Pickering; husband, Jimmy Prather; and 
grandchildren, Erin and Amber Jones.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Candy Jones and husband 
George of Gilbert, LA, and Penny Cain and husband Jerry of Sterlington, LA; 
grandchildren, Lyndsey Smith and husband Curtis, Garret Jones, Hunter Jones, 
and James Logan Cain; great granddaughter, Livy Beth Smith; brothers, Gene 
Pickering and wife Melba of Wisner, LA, and Jimmy Pickering and wife Sue of 
Wisner, LA; sisters, Linda Williams of Wisner, LA, Lori Roberts and husband 
Marty of Wisner, LA, and Emily Wilson of Wisner, LA; and her special canine 
companion, Lil-Man.

Pallbearers that will be honoring Ms. Claudine are James Logan Cain, Curtis 
Smith, Hunter Jones, Jamie Fortenberry, Garrett Jones, and Brian Wilson.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 
5:00-8:00 at the church.
