Rushing Funeral services for Claude J. Rushing, 69 of Mangham, were held on Sunday at Cedar Baptist Church with the Rev. Huey Bradford officiating. Interment followed at Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Rushing died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired heavy equipment operator and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rushing is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mae Rushing. Survivors include his children, James Rushing and wife Kathy, Archibald; Beverly Gresham and husband Rory, Rayville; Tammy Nobles and husband Terry, Archibald; sisters, Vivian Weems and husband Jasper "Shorty", Archibald; Betty Sims and husband Travis, Archibald'; Salley Prestridge and husband Jim, Brookhaven, Mississippi; brother, John Layton Rushing II and wife, Pat, Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Rachael Rushing, Megan Rushing. Tyler Rushing, Layton Rushing, Rebecca Rushing, Wendy Nobles, Amy Williamson, David Gresham, Ryan Gresham, Mary Gresham and Corki Pettengell; also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Travis Sims, Jim Prestridge, Robbie Milstead, Jerry Roberts, Kevin Wedgeworth and Jerry Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Jasper Weems and Kevin Bunch.
