Scott Funeral services for Myrtle E. Scott, 77, of Winnsboro were held Saturday at the chapel of Community Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. "Bill" Sutherlin and the Rev. Kelly Wayne Clark officiating. Interment followed at Providence Memorial Park under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Scott died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a resident of Franklin Parish, retired insurance agent with Commonwealth Insurance Company and a member of the Baptist faith. She was very active with the Franklin Parish Council on Aging and TRIAD. Mrs. Scott's philosophy of life was: "Save not your candle for tomorrow, but burn it today. She is preceded in death by her husband Adrian Scott and two daughters. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Ashley and husband Charles, Delhi; Sandra Sutherlin and husband, William "Bill" Sutherlin, Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Scott and Shree Ashley; Beth and Elliot Sutherlin; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachel and Madalyn; sisters, Louise Sanford, Winnfield; Carol Weaver, Mangham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edith and Julian Russell, Winnsboro; Elouise and Jesse Scott, Winnsboro; Joy and George Scott, Oak Grove. Also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Randy Robertson, Johnny Derrick, David Creed, Kyle Russell, Ray Glasscock, and Jerry Sutherlin.
