Simms Funeral services for James William "J.W."Simms, 73, of Wisner were held Monday at South Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Eubanks and the Rev. Virgil Harris officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Simms died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at Franklin Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a native and resident of Franklin Parish, retired after 35 years of service with International Paper Mill of Natchez, Mississippi; member of South Central Baptist Church and Quarter Century Club of International Paper. He also served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy W. Simms, Wisner; children: Manley Simms, Sr., James L. Simms and wife Linda; Eugene Simms and wife Rhonda all of Wisner; sister, Eloise Hughes, Harrisonburg; brothers Glenn Simms and dale Simms of Wisner; grandchildren, Ashley, Manley Jr., and wife Lynn; and great-grandchild, Triston; also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Talmadge Roberts, Keith Ferrington, Gerald Hughes, Kevin Cureington and Todd Hughes. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Jennings and Robbie Simms.
