Stevens Funeral services for Grover W. Stevens, 79, of Baton Rouge will be held at 10:30 A.M. today November 29, at Gray's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow at Felters Cemetery in Denham Springs, under the direction of Seale Funeral Home. Mr. Stevens died Monday, November 27, 2000 at his residence. He was a native of Gilbert, a World War II Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He was also a heavy equipment operator for Local 406 and a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his parents, James Terrell and Jessie Laura Stevens; sisters, Eugenia Womack and Laura Crouchet; brother, Roy Stevens. Survivors include his wife, Annis DaCosta Stevens, five daughters, Dianne Vaughn of Denham Springs; Kay Barefield of Troup, Texas; Rose Mary Poland of Denham Springs; Margie Jeansonne of Walker and Shonnye Stevens of St. Augustine, Florida; two sons, Terrell Stevens and Ted W. Stevens both of Denham Springs; one sister, Margie McIntyre of Baskin; three brothers, T.J. Stevens of Baskin; Alton Stevens of Gilbert; Cary Stevens of Crowville; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Barefield, Justin Poland, Ted Stevens, Terrell Stevens, Todd Stevens and Brent Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers were Landon Poland and Scott Jeansonne.
