Talbert, Sr. Funeral services for J.C. Talbert, Sr. 70, of Columbia, were held Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John Flemming officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Talbert died Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a resident of Caldwell Parish, a native of Franklin Parish, and a heavy equipment operator with Caldwell Parish. Mr. Talbert is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Emma Talbert, and a daughter, Carolyn Talbert. Survivors include his wife Pearl K. Talbert of Columbia; children, J.C.Talbert, Jr. of Winnsboro; Linda richardson of Jigger; Glenda Huacuja of Picayune, Mississippi; Edward Talbert and Dana Talbert both of Winnsboro; sisters, Evelyn McClanahan of Ruston; Minnie Lee Dilley of Winnsboro; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of step-children, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Marvin Netherland, James Talbert, James Jewell, Terry Wiggins, Jimbo Wiggins and Billy Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers were George Dilley, Calvin Humphries and Louis Massey.
