Marion Spence, the Rev. Mickey Gallup, the Rev. Jim Taylor and the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Riser First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mr. Thornhill died Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Franklin Guest Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Thornhill was an active member of Hill Ridge Baptist Church. He was formerly employed with the Milk House, Franklin Parish Police Jury and Martin Bros. Ice Cream. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Gladys Ellerbe Thornhill of Winnsboro; three children, Leo Thornhill, Jr. and wife Elaine of Winnsboro; Glenda Gould of Winnsboro; Susan Spence and husband Marion of Brandon, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Chris Gould, Sara Thornhill, Brandon Spence, Julie Spence and Emily Thornhill; three brothers, Lindsey Thornhill of Kerman, California; Leslie Thornhill of Red Bluff, Ca.; and John Thornhill of Salinas, Ca. Pallbearers were Don Adams, Kent Bennett, Carey Ellerbe, Ed Ellerbe Jr., Mike "Bush" Ellerbe, Carol McDaniel Jr., Billy Spence and Chip Troha. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Clay, Steve Guimbellot, Odis Higgonbotham, Tim Martin, Willie Pittman, Julian Tyler, Will Young and members of Mr. Thornhill's Sunday School Class at Hill Ridge Baptist Church.
