Funeral services for Clarence "Lamar"' Vines, Sr., 85, of Newellton were
held Thursday at 
Riser First National Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with the Rev. Roy
Southern officiating.
Interment followed in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the
direction of
 Riser First National Funeral Home.
Mr. Vines died Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at Franklin Medical Center.  He
was a longtime
 farmer in Tensas Parish.
Survivors include his wife Lorena Vines; seven children, Sonny Vines of
Las Vegas, Neveda; 
Dorothy Harvill of Vidor, Texas; Betty Polk of West Monroe; Barbara Tatum
of Winnsboro;  
Ann Marriott of Buffalo, New York; Lynn Vines of Zachary, Louisiana; Ken
Vines of Newellton, La.; 
two sisters, Loraine Tatum, Newellton; Mary Polk, Crowville; 16
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
